A man named Kaval Kottam who adopts the system of communism and poses a threat to the traditional Indian social order. This book is about his life and his beliefs. He was known for assassinating the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984, but was eventually assassinated by police during an encounter in 1989. His approach to communism is very different from the Soviet Union's model, which led him on a quest for human liberation. He wishes to liberate people from the ever-pervasive powers of capitalism and conservatism. Kaval Kottam strongly opposes the Indian economic model, which he believes makes it impossible for anyone to rise above their social class. As government ministers grow richer at the expense of others, many citizens lack the basic necessities to survive in society. This book is very much about his beliefs, and is not so much about his actions or journey after becoming an extremist communist.The book primarily focuses on Kaval's life as well as his theory of communism to explain where he got the idea to abandon traditional Indian social norms and move towards communism. Kaval Kottam dealt with many problems in life. He was born in the year 1938 in a middle-class family, which would have been typical of someone in his social class. He had to learn to fend for himself at an early age; which meant that he had to grow up fast and be responsible. With his workaholic nature, Kaval wanted to be perfect at everything he did; which led him into becoming a perfectionist. This made it impossible for him to find time for fun and relaxation; which resulted in him not doing what he truly loved, which was playing sports. He wanted to excel at all things he did, which led him to becoming a perfectionist. With this stark contrast between his life and the life of the middle class, Kaval was upset by the reality that he was not living in a fair society. Kaval felt that there were no powerful people in India that everyone could look up to. However, when he worked for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Bombay, he realized that there were many different classes of people within India and so Kaval began to discover the truth in what he had observed and learned. Young Kaval Kottam worked as an employee at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST). He was born in 1938. When he was young, he enjoyed playing with other children in his neighborhood. At the age of seven, he moved to Bombay; where his father was employed as a supervisor at the CST. Kaval stayed with his parents until he was ten years old. He had developed a strong desire for independence at this time; which led him to work hard and make money of his own. His father encouraged him to pursue studies, but Kaval wanted to be self-sufficient and work on his own terms.
